For autistic people, trauma survivors,
and anyone who’s ever struggled with self-doubt or burnout.

What Is Manipura?

Imagine standing at the edge of a forest, holding a torch in your hands. This torch represents your inner fire—your personal power, confidence, and ability to take up space. When your Manipura (Solar Plexus Chakra) is balanced, you:
🔥 Trust your gut instincts,
💪 Stand up for yourself without guilt,
🌟 Feel confident in your decisions,
🚀 Take action toward your goals,
🌀 Bounce back from setbacks without losing yourself.

Manipura is your inner warrior—not the kind that dominates others, but the kind that knows your worth and acts from a place of self-respect.

Manipura and the Other Chakras: How Your Energy System Works Together

Your chakras aren’t isolated—they’re like a team of allies, each with a unique role, but all working together to keep you balanced, grounded, and thriving. When one chakra is out of sync, it ripples through the entire system, affecting your emotions, body, and even your relationships.

Manipura (your Solar Plexus Chakra) is the third chakra, located in your solar plexus area. It’s the bridge between your lower chakras (which govern survival, emotions, and creativity) and your upper chakras (which govern intuition, communication, and spirituality). Think of it as the CEO of your energy system—it oversees your personal power, confidence, and ability to take action.

Let’s explore how Manipura connects with each of the other chakras, and what happens when they’re out of balance or in harmony.

Manipura and the Root Chakra (Muladhara): The Foundation of Trust

Location: Perineum (base of the spine)
Element: Earth
Theme: Safety, stability, survival

🔥 The Connection:

Your Root Chakra is the foundation of your energy system. It’s where your sense of safety, security, and belonging lives. When your Root Chakra is balanced, you feel:
✅ Grounded in your body,
✅ Safe in your environment,
✅ Supported by the world around you.

Manipura depends on this foundation. If your Root Chakra is blocked (e.g., you feel unsafe, unsupported, or financially stressed), your Manipura might struggle with:
🚫 Low confidence (“I don’t deserve to take up space.”),
🚫 Fear of failure (“What if I mess up?”),
🚫 Burnout (“I have to do everything myself.”).

Example:
If you’re autistic and living in a world that doesn’t accommodate your needs, your Root Chakra might feel shaken (e.g., sensory overload, lack of safety, or systemic barriers). This can make your Manipura feel weak or overworked, like you’re constantly fighting for your right to exist.

💛 How to Harmonize Them:

  • Grounding practices (e.g., walking barefoot on grass, rooting visualization).

  • Safe spaces (create a physical or emotional sanctuary where you feel secure).

  • Body awareness (e.g., pelvic tilts, yoga poses like Mountain Pose).

Affirmation:
“I am safe. I am supported. I trust myself to take up space.”

Manipura and the Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): The Flow of Creativity and Pleasure

Location: Below the navel
Element: Water
Theme: Emotions, creativity, pleasure

💧 The Connection:

Your Sacral Chakra is where your emotions, creativity, and pleasure live. It’s the fuel that powers your Manipura. When your Sacral Chakra is balanced, you feel:
✅ Connected to your emotions,
✅ Creative and inspired,
✅ Open to pleasure and joy.

Manipura feeds off this energy. If your Sacral Chakra is blocked (e.g., you feel numb, creatively stuck, or disconnected from pleasure), your Manipura might struggle with:
🚫 Lack of motivation (“Why bother trying?”),
🚫 Guilt around self-care (“I don’t deserve joy.”),
🚫 Burnout from overworking (“I have to earn pleasure.”).

Example:
If you’re autistic and masking your emotions to fit in, your Sacral Chakra might feel suppressed. This can make your Manipura feel drained or uninspired, like you’re going through the motions without real passion.

💛 How to Harmonize Them:

  • Creative expression (e.g., doodling, dancing, or cooking—no “right” way!).

  • Sensory pleasure (e.g., warm baths, soft blankets, or favorite music).

  • Emotional check-ins (e.g., journaling or drawing your feelings).

Affirmation:
“I honor my emotions. I allow myself to feel joy. My creativity flows freely.”

Manipura and the Heart Chakra (Anahata): The Balance of Power and Love

Location: Center of the chest
Element: Air
Theme: Love, compassion, forgiveness

❤️ The Connection:

Your Heart Chakra is where your ability to love, forgive, and connect lives. It’s the heart of your compassion—for yourself and others. When your Heart Chakra is balanced, you feel:
✅ Open to giving and receiving love,
✅ Compassionate toward yourself and others,
✅ Forgiving (even of your own mistakes).

Manipura and the Heart Chakra must work together for healthy boundaries and self-trust. If your Heart Chakra is blocked (e.g., you feel unlovable, resentful, or emotionally closed off), your Manipura might struggle with:
🚫 People-pleasing (“I’ll do anything to be loved.”),
🚫 Self-sabotage (“I don’t deserve success.”),
🚫 Burnout from overgiving (“I have to earn love.”).

Example:
If you’re autistic and have experienced rejection sensitivity, your Heart Chakra might feel fragile. This can make your Manipura overcompensate by pushing people away (overactive) or never advocating for yourself (blocked).

💛 How to Harmonize Them:

  • Self-compassion practices (e.g., writing a letter to yourself from a loved one).

  • Boundary-setting (e.g., practicing saying “no” without guilt).

  • Heart-opening yoga (e.g., Camel Pose, Bridge Pose, or Child’s Pose with a hand on your heart).

Affirmation:
“I love myself unconditionally. I set boundaries with kindness. I trust my heart and my power.”

Manipura and the Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): Speaking Your Truth

Location: Throat
Element: Sound
Theme: Communication, self-expression, truth

💬 The Connection:

Your Throat Chakra is where your ability to speak your truth lives. It’s the megaphone that amplifies your Manipura’s confidence. When your Throat Chakra is balanced, you feel:
✅ Clear about your needs and desires,
✅ Able to express yourself authentically,
✅ Comfortable with silence and speech.

Manipura fuels your Throat Chakra. If your Throat Chakra is blocked (e.g., you feel unheard, silenced, or afraid to speak up), your Manipura might struggle with:
🚫 Fear of judgment (“What if they think I’m stupid?”),
🚫 Repressed anger (“I swallow my words until I explode.”),
🚫 Codependency (“I’ll say what you want to hear.”).

Example:
If you’re autistic and have experienced gaslighting or dismissal, your Throat Chakra might feel shut down. This can make your Manipura feel powerless, like your voice doesn’t matter.

💛 How to Harmonize Them:

  • Voice exercises (e.g., humming, singing, or chanting “OM”).

  • Journaling (e.g., writing down what you really think before saying it aloud).

  • Throat-opening yoga (e.g., Fish Pose, Lion’s Breath, or Shoulder Stand).

Affirmation:
“My voice matters. I speak my truth with confidence. I am heard and respected.”

Manipura and the Third Eye Chakra (Ajna): Intuition and Inner Wisdom

Location: Forehead (between the eyebrows)
Element: Light
Theme: Intuition, insight, imagination

👁️ The Connection:

Your Third Eye Chakra is where your intuition and inner wisdom live. It’s the compass that guides your Manipura’s decisions. When your Third Eye Chakra is balanced, you feel:
✅ Connected to your gut instincts,
✅ Open to new ideas and possibilities,
✅ Trusting of your inner guidance.

Manipura relies on this intuition to make decisions. If your Third Eye Chakra is blocked (e.g., you feel doubtful, scattered, or disconnected from your intuition), your Manipura might struggle with:
🚫 Overthinking (“What if I make the wrong choice?”),
🚫 Imposter syndrome (“I don’t know what I’m doing.”),
🚫 Decision paralysis (“I’ll just do nothing.”).

Example:
If you’re autistic and have been told you’re “too literal” or “don’t understand social cues,” your Third Eye Chakra might feel suppressed. This can make your Manipura feel lost, like you can’t trust your own judgment.

💛 How to Harmonize Them:

  • Meditation (e.g., visualizing a golden light at your Third Eye).

  • Intuitive journaling (e.g., asking yourself: “What does my gut say?”).

  • Creative visualization (e.g., drawing or painting your intuition).

Affirmation:
“I trust my intuition. My inner wisdom guides me. I make decisions with confidence.”

Manipura and the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): Spiritual Alignment and Purpose

Location: Top of the head
Element: Thought
Theme: Spirituality, purpose, enlightenment

🌌 The Connection:

Your Crown Chakra is where your connection to something greater than yourself lives. It’s the sky to Manipura’s fire—it gives your power meaning and direction. When your Crown Chakra is balanced, you feel:
✅ Connected to your purpose,
✅ Open to spiritual growth,
✅ At peace with the unknown.

Manipura fuels your ability to take action toward your purpose. If your Crown Chakra is blocked (e.g., you feel lost, purposeless, or disconnected from spirituality), your Manipura might struggle with:
🚫 Lack of motivation (“What’s the point?”),
🚫 Existential dread (“I don’t belong here.”),
🚫 Burnout from “shoulds” (“I have to do this to be worthy.”).

Example:
If you’ve ever felt like you don’t fit into societal expectations (e.g., as an autistic person, a neurodivergent individual, or someone with a non-traditional path), your Crown Chakra might feel disconnected. This can make your Manipura feel directionless, like you’re just going through the motions.

💛 How to Harmonize Them:

  • Purpose exercises (e.g., asking: “What makes me feel alive?”).

  • Spiritual practices (e.g., meditation, prayer, or time in nature).

  • Letting go of “shoulds” (e.g., asking: “Does this align with my truth?”).

Affirmation:
“I am connected to my purpose. My fire has direction. I trust my path.”

What Happens When All Your Chakras Are in Harmony?

When your entire energy system is balanced, you feel:
🌟 Grounded in your body (Root Chakra),
🌊 Connected to your emotions and creativity (Sacral Chakra),
❤️ Open to love and compassion (Heart Chakra),
💬 Able to speak your truth (Throat Chakra),
👁️ Guided by your intuition (Third Eye Chakra),
🌌 Aligned with your purpose (Crown Chakra).

Manipura, as the CEO of this system, helps you:
✔ Trust yourself,
✔ Take action toward your goals,
✔ Set boundaries with kindness,
✔ Embrace your power without shame.

Warning Signs Your Chakras Are Out of Sync

If you notice multiple chakras feeling blocked or overactive, it might be a sign that your entire energy system is struggling. For example:

  • Root + Manipura blocked: Feeling unsafe and powerless (e.g., “I can’t do anything right.”).

  • Sacral + Manipura blocked: Feeling numb and unmotivated (e.g., “I don’t care about anything.”).

  • Heart + Manipura blocked: Feeling unlovable and resentful (e.g., “No one understands me.”).

This is where trauma, masking, or systemic oppression can really take a toll. But the good news is that balancing one chakra often helps the others.
